Artist Statement:
Having spent 25 years designing interiors and furniture for large corporations, Nora Fischer then turned to metalsmithing, jewelry, and, more recently, ceramics. She considers jewelry to be the personal version of furniture and is inspired by her architectural background. Most of her pieces incorporate triangles, the simplest and purest of geometric forms, often thought to symbolize creation. The sterling silver she uses is reclaimed, either in her studio or by a supplier. In returning to her college love of ceramics, Nora creates unique tableware, either thrown on the wheel or hand built. You will still find echoes of her architectural background in her ceramics.
