Artist Statement:

Annie Boyer is a sculptor from Brunswick, Maryland, who works in ceramics and mixed media, creating fantasy creatures and plants. Her work is wheel thrown and altered utilizing hand-building techniques. She explores incorporating found objects along with fiber art elements. As a Maryland native, growing up on a farm, the woods and a plant nursery deeply inform the work she creates. Annie holds a BA in fine art/art history from the University of Maryland and an MA from MICA, and is currently an MFA candidate at Hood College. Annie is a high school ceramics teacher in Montgomery County. Her work has widely shown locally and nationally.
